People often assume luxury is about things. The perfect hotel. Crisp linens. Beautiful skincare. A stunning meal. A thoughtfully designed space. And while I appreciate all of those things, what I’ve come to realize is that true luxury has very little to do with excess. Luxury is how something makes you feel. It’s being greeted by name. It’s a perfectly brewed cup of tea served without being asked. It’s the feeling that someone thought about your experience before you even arrived.
I’ve always been fascinated by exceptional experiences. Whether I’m traveling, dining, staying at a hotel, or creating a treatment for a client, I find myself paying attention to the details that most people overlook. How did they make me feel? What made that moment memorable? What transformed a service into an experience?
Over the years, those observations have shaped my work as much as any skincare training ever could. When a client walks through my door, I don’t want them to feel like they’re getting a facial. I want them to feel cared for. I want them to feel anticipated. I want them to feel like they’ve stepped out of their busy lives and into a space where everything has been thoughtfully considered. To me, that’s luxury. Not more. Better.
More presence. More intention. More attention to detail. The older I get, the more I find myself seeking experiences that leave me feeling restored rather than impressed. And that’s the standard I bring to my work every day. Because the most unforgettable luxury isn’t something you buy. It’s how deeply you feel cared for.
